Vendsyssel Museum of Art has the largerst collection of the painter Poul Anker Bech's artworks.

Poul Anker Bech's (1942-2009) paintings are closely linked to Vendyssel. His artworks show recognizable landscapes and environments, but he always allow surprising and foreign elements to interfere with the familiar. Based on the local and concrete, he strives to express something universal. His paintings thematize human existence and the contrasts of life.
