A dynamic profiling of the cultural field can mean quite a lot to an area as well as to a city. With this vision Hjørring Kommune (municipality) in the spring of 1996 arranged an architects competition on conversion of the closed Bechs Klædefabrik (textile mill) into an art museum.
The architects C. F. Møllers Tegnestue won with a project that in a convincing as well as simple way meets a contemporary cultural institution's multifarious needs - and at the same time it ensures Bechs Klædefabrik as a significant building of value to the history of civilization.
The museum shop at Vendsyssel Museum of Art has a wide assortment of books, posters, art cards and framed pictures, published by the museum in connection with temporary exhibitions and from its own collections. The museum shop also has an exciting repertoire within high quality young Danish design.
You are welcome to visit the museum shop without buying a ticket to the museum.
